Ohrl heard Taniir shout through the deafening rage.

“Na’fal!”

He remembered the black rot that had sparked the raging fire and redirected his malice toward Taniir. Under Ohrl’s control, the four guards charged the bridge, brushing past Faerl as he cowered at the spire’s edge. They leapt onto the opposite spire, slashing and hacking at the defending guards. Confusion tore through their ranks as their demented colleagues attacked. Every man that guarded the causeway was overwhelmed by al-Din’s power, rushing to attack those who survived before being consumed by madness and rage. Taniir stood no chance, for the demons that ripped him apart were fuelled by Ohrl’s insurmountable anger. His blood sprayed over Nephi, but her screams were cut short as she too was torn to shreds.

Ohrl’s servants were merciless. The violent sands hammered around the spire as guard turned against guard, unsure of who their enemy was. Out of desperation to save themselves, they struck at any shape looming from the storm. Blood spewed over the spire, and with each kill Ohrl’s hunger grew. He screamed against the wind as the rage of al-Din tore at his mind, his lust abating only as the last of the guards fell. Then, when there was suddenly no one left to kill, Ohrl’s mind caved in, the encroaching sands dissipating as he collapsed violently onto the central spire’s peak.
